FloMag PWT 6x16 magnesium-oxide media raises the pH of acidic, low-pH water. This bag holds 0.66 cubic feet (roughly 50 lb) of granular magnesium hydroxide (MgO / "Mag. Hydrox") sized in the 6x16 mesh range for use as a neutralizing bed inside a backwashing mineral tank.

Use FloMag PWT where a water test shows pH below the neutral range and you want to stop pipes and fixtures from etching or staining. Because magnesium oxide reacts more aggressively than calcite alone, a smaller charge can add significant alkalinity, which makes it useful for water that is only mildly acidic. This media does not soften water or remove iron; pair it with a softener or iron filter if those problems are present. Load it into a properly sized neutralizer tank, backwash to classify the bed, and top off periodically as the media is consumed by the incoming acidity.
