WaterSoftenerPlus Limited Warranty
Effective date: September 30, 2026
This Limited Warranty applies to eligible WaterSoftenerPlus residential water-treatment systems sold with WaterSoftenerPlus warranty coverage. Product-specific or manufacturer warranty terms may apply where stated on the product page or supplied with the equipment. Commercial and industrial equipment may have a separate product-specific warranty schedule.
Coverage Summary
- Structural mineral/filter tanks: Limited Lifetime coverage against covered defects in materials or workmanship.
- Brine tanks: Limited Lifetime coverage against covered defects in materials or workmanship where included with the warranted system.
- Control valve/head body: 10 years against covered defects in materials or workmanship.
- Electronic controller, timer, circuit board, transformer and power supply: 5 years against covered defects in materials or workmanship.
- Resin and treatment media: Product-specific coverage only when expressly stated for the applicable system or media. Media is not automatically covered for life.
Parts-Only Warranty
This is a parts-only limited warranty. For an approved claim, WaterSoftenerPlus may repair or replace, at its option, the covered defective part with a new, rebuilt or functionally equivalent part. Labor, diagnosis, service calls, removal, installation, reinstallation, plumbing work, electrical work and other contractor charges are not covered unless expressly stated in writing for a specific product.
Normal Wear, Maintenance and Consumables
Normal wear and tear is not a covered defect. Wear items and routine-maintenance items are excluded, including seals, O-rings, spacers, pistons, injectors, screens, diaphragms and comparable components that normally wear through operation. Consumable cartridges, filters and media exhaustion or depletion are excluded unless a product-specific written warranty expressly provides otherwise.
Water Conditions and Proper Application
Warranty eligibility requires that the system be properly sized, installed, operated and maintained for its intended application and within the pressure, temperature, flow, electrical and water-quality specifications applicable to that system. Required pretreatment must be used when specified. Normal media exhaustion, fouling or loss of performance caused by contaminant loading or source-water conditions is not a manufacturing defect.
What Is Not Covered
This Limited Warranty does not cover damage, malfunction or failure caused by improper use, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper sizing, improper installation, improper programming, failure to perform required maintenance, operation outside specified conditions, unauthorized alteration, or improper repair or service. It also excludes damage caused by external forces or conditions, including freezing, fire, flood, lightning, electrical surge, physical impact, excessive pressure, vacuum conditions, incompatible chemicals, abnormal or incompatible water chemistry, contaminant loading beyond design conditions, lack of required pretreatment, or other causes external to a covered defect in materials or workmanship.
Use of independent parts or service does not by itself void this Limited Warranty; however, damage caused by improper parts, installation, alteration, repair or service is not covered.
Original Installation and Transfer
Unless a product-specific warranty states otherwise, this Limited Warranty applies to the original purchaser and the system at its original installation location. Coverage is not automatically transferable to a subsequent owner or a relocated installation.
Commercial and Industrial Systems
Commercial and industrial equipment is covered only by the warranty schedule expressly stated for that product, proposal, quotation or manufacturer warranty. Residential Limited Lifetime terms do not automatically extend to commercial or industrial applications.
Warranty Claims
To request warranty service, the claimant should provide proof of purchase, product identification, installation information, a description of the failure and reasonable supporting information needed to evaluate whether the failure is covered. WaterSoftenerPlus may request photographs, operating information, water-test information, maintenance records, return of the claimed defective part, or other reasonable evidence relevant to the claimed failure.
Shipping and Other Costs
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific product or claim, this Limited Warranty does not cover labor, service-call charges, removal or reinstallation, plumbing or electrical work, travel, lost water, business interruption, or other incidental service costs. Responsibility for shipping or freight associated with warranty parts will be determined by the applicable product-specific warranty and claim circumstances.
Manufacturer Warranties
Some products or components may carry a manufacturer warranty. Where a manufacturer warranty applies, its terms, limitations and claim procedures remain applicable. WaterSoftenerPlus does not enlarge a third-party manufacturer's warranty merely by describing that warranty on a product or landing page.
Legal Rights
This Limited Warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights, and the purchaser may also have other rights that vary by state. Any limitation or exclusion in this Limited Warranty applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
