Nelsen Tampa Water Treatment Collection: Durable Media Tanks and Filter Units for Industrial and Commercial Use

The Nelsen Tampa collection features a comprehensive range of high-quality water treatment tanks and filter units designed to meet demanding industrial and commercial water treatment needs. This category focuses on Nelsen’s WS3 and WS3H series mineral tanks and filter units, providing reliable, corrosion-resistant solutions compatible with various water filtration media and systems. Whether you require a compact 300K model or a larger 1200K tank, the Nelsen Tampa selection offers versatility in size and configuration, ideal for blending with existing treatment setups or designing new water purification processes.

How Nelsen Tampa Tanks and Filter Units Work

Nelsen Tampa media tanks, such as the WS3 and WS3H series, serve as pressure vessels that house filtration or softening media like activated carbon, sand, or ion-exchange resin. Water flows through these tanks under pressure, allowing the media inside to remove contaminants, hardness, or odors effectively. The “Min Tk” designation refers to mineral tanks optimized for mineral-based filtration media, while the “TA” and “H” suffixes indicate variations in tank design or height tailored for specific system configurations.

The filter units in this collection, ranging from 24" x 72" to 48" x 72" in size, are designed to hold bulk filter media and provide a robust framework for consistent flow and pressure handling. These units work seamlessly with various backwashing and regeneration systems and are typically used in larger-scale water treatment plants or commercial facilities where high throughput and durability are essential.

Choosing the Right Nelsen Tampa Model for Your Water Treatment Needs

Tank Size and Capacity: Select a tank size based on your system’s flow rate requirements and the volume of media needed. Larger tanks like the 1200K WS3 series accommodate higher flow rates and greater media volumes, suitable for high-demand applications.
Tank Type and Height: The WS3 and WS3H series differ primarily in tank height and diameter, affecting media bed depth and system footprint. Taller tanks (WS3H) typically allow for more media volume within a smaller diameter, which can be advantageous where space is limited.
Mineral vs. Filter Unit: Mineral tanks (Min Tk) are optimized for ion exchange or multi-media filtration processes, while the filter units provide a structural framework for bulk media filtration, often in larger or custom system designs.
Compatibility: Ensure the chosen tank or filter unit matches your existing plumbing, control valves, and treatment media. Nelsen tanks are compatible with standard water treatment valves and fittings, but verifying dimensions and connection types is recommended.

Sizing and Compatibility Considerations

Accurately sizing your Nelsen Tampa tank or filter unit starts with knowing your system’s peak flow rate and water quality goals. For example, a 300K WS3 tank is suitable for smaller systems or point-of-entry treatments, while the 1200K models support large commercial or industrial applications. The physical dimensions of the filter units, such as 36" x 72", indicate the diameter and height, which directly influence media volume and contact time.

Compatibility with existing system components like control valves, piping, and media is critical. Nelsen tanks feature industry-standard flange connections and are constructed from corrosion-resistant materials such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), ensuring long service life and compatibility with a wide range of water treatment media. Always consult manufacturer guidelines or a water treatment specialist to confirm proper fit and function.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of media can I use in Nelsen Tampa mineral tanks?

A: Nelsen Tampa mineral tanks are designed to accommodate a variety of filtration and softening media, including activated carbon, ion-exchange resin, sand, and other mineral-based media. The tank’s design supports efficient media retention and backwashing processes.

Q: How do I determine if I need a WS3 or WS3H series tank?

A: The WS3H series tanks are typically taller and narrower, providing greater media depth in a smaller footprint. Choosing between WS3 and WS3H depends on your spatial constraints and desired media volume. Assess available installation space and media requirements to make the best selection.

Q: Can Nelsen Tampa filter units be used for backwashing systems?

A: Yes, the filter units in this collection are designed to work with backwashing and regeneration systems commonly used in commercial and industrial water treatment. Their robust construction allows for repeated backwash cycles without compromising tank integrity.
