How it works

The valve draws a pocket of air into the top of the tank. Water passes through the air, which oxidizes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide into particles, and the media bed filters them out. Every day the valve backwashes the bed, sends the trapped particles to drain and refreshes the air pocket.

Media benefits

  • Removes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide (rotten-egg smell) in one tank
  • Handles high flow rates in a compact tank
  • Long media life
  • Backwashes the trapped particles to drain automatically
  • Air injection oxidizes iron, manganese and sulfur with plain air, so no chemicals or chlorine are added

This parcel-ready NWS Control Flow AIO 12"x52" with Katalox-Light® packs high-capacity, multi-contaminant treatment into a shipment you can receive without freight. From , it reduces iron, sulfur, and manganese — along with arsenic, H2S, and other metals — using 2 cubic feet of advanced Katalox-Light® media in a roomy 12" x 52" tank.

One System, Many Contaminants

Katalox-Light® media is engineered for tough water, removing a wide range of metals and sulfur compounds without potassium permanganate or chlorine. Air injection oxidation feeds the bed, and Control Flow Technology meters regeneration to your actual water usage, so backwash runs only when needed and never wastes water on an arbitrary timer.

  • Iron, sulfur, manganese, arsenic, H2S, and metal reduction
  • 2 cubic feet of Katalox-Light® media
  • 12" x 52" black polyglass mineral tank
  • 1" NWS control valve with Control Flow Technology
  • Bypass valve included; plumbing adapters chosen separately
  • Packaged for parcel truck delivery; about 184 lbs

Katalox-Light® brings low pressure loss, high flow and service rates, and high bed loadings with infrequent backwash — typically just 5 to 10 minutes at 5.5 gpm per square foot, with operation up to 12 gpm per square foot. The larger 12-inch tank supplies the flow capacity bigger homes require to serve several fixtures simultaneously. Installed at the point of entry and supplied by Water Softener Plus, this system tackles challenging well-water chemistry efficiently. Add the adapters that fit your lines to finish the installation.

For demanding well water, testing for iron, manganese, sulfur, and pH before setup helps confirm sizing and ensures the Katalox-Light media is matched to your conditions. Locate the unit on a level surface near the main line and a suitable drain, with clearance above the tank for valve service. With no potassium permanganate or chlorine to manage, ongoing care is minimal, and the high-loading media delivers strong, multi-contaminant performance over a long service life.

Supplied and supported by Water Softener Plus, this -built system reflects the quality and consistency homeowners and installers have come to expect from the brand, giving you confidence in a long, dependable service life treating your home's water.
