Descrizione
An upflow whole-house carbon filter, 10" x 44", supplied with a 3/4" bypass. Water flows up through the carbon bed to reduce chlorine taste and odour across the whole house. Because it is an upflow design there is no control valve on top - which means no timer to set, no electricity and nothing to program.
Key details
- 10" x 44" tank
- Carbon media for chlorine taste and odour
- Upflow design - no control valve, no power, nothing to program
- Includes a 3/4" bypass so you can isolate the unit for service
- Whole-house point-of-entry installation
Where it fits
A straightforward choice for city water where chlorine taste and smell are the main complaint. If you also have hardness, iron or sulphur, that needs a media and a system matched to those problems instead.
Upflow Filter 10x44 w/ Bypass 3/4". Part #: UF-1044.
How an upflow backwashing filter works
This upflow backwashing filter runs service water up through the media bed and periodically reverses flow to backwash it clean. The self-cleaning backwash is what separates this design from a disposable cartridge filter: instead of buying and swapping clogged cartridges, the system rinses its own bed to drain on a schedule and returns to service, so a single media charge lasts for years.
Matching media to your problem
The same tank and valve can address very different water issues depending on the media you load, from taste-and-odor carbon to iron and sediment reduction, which makes this a flexible backbone for whole-house treatment. Send us your water test and the contaminant you are targeting, and we will specify the media, size the bed to your flow, and provide the manuals so the filter installs and backwashes correctly.
Sizing it to your flow
An upflow backwashing filter needs enough bed depth and the right tank diameter to give water proper contact time while still backwashing cleanly at your available flow and pressure. Undersize it and you sacrifice either treatment or backwash quality. Give us your peak simultaneous water use and we will match the tank, media volume, and drain flow control so the filter performs without starving your fixtures.
Long service life
Because the media is backwashed rather than discarded, most beds run for years before a media change is due, making this a lower-cost-per-year approach than cartridge systems for whole-house treatment.
