Descrizione

Adapting a 1-1/4" male-threaded port down to a 3/4" female outlet is a tidy one-part job with this American Granby PVC bushing. It carries a 1-1/4" MIPT (male iron pipe thread) on one side and a 3/4" FIPT (female iron pipe thread) on the other, threading into a larger fitting while accepting a smaller threaded component, all without any solvent welding.

Fully threaded and serviceable

Because both ends are threaded, this bushing is completely serviceable, you can thread it in and out without cement, which makes it ideal at connection points you may need to disassemble for maintenance on softeners, filters, or pump-system plumbing. It concentrates the size change into a single screw-in fitting, reducing the number of stacked adapters and, with them, the number of potential leak paths in the assembly. That tidiness is especially valuable around valve bodies and gauges where space is limited and connections are revisited.

  • Reduces 1-1/4" MIPT to 3/4" FIPT
  • Connection: MIPT x FIPT, both threaded
  • Fitting type: reducing bushing
  • Material: Schedule 40 PVC
  • All-threaded design, no solvent welding required
  • Approximate weight: 0.10 lb each

Install it by wrapping the male threads with PTFE tape or applying pipe sealant, threading it into the 1-1/4" female port, then doing the same for whatever 3/4" component goes into the FIPT outlet. Hand-tighten and finish with a careful turn, stopping before the plastic strains, since over-torquing is the usual culprit behind cracked plastic threads. The corrosion resistance of PVC keeps the fitting rust-free and scale-resistant in treated-water and brine service, where a metal bushing would eventually corrode or seize. For a clean, removable size and thread transition in residential and light-commercial systems, this American Granby bushing is a practical choice.

Because PVC will not corrode internally, the inside diameter stays clean and full-bore for the life of the line, preserving the flow and pressure that metal pipe loses to scale and rust over the years. That matters in water-treatment plumbing, where consistent flow keeps softeners and filters operating within their design range. Pair this fitting with quality pipe, proper primer and cement, and clean, square cuts, and it will deliver dependable, leak-free service for the long term.
