The mineral tank (also called the resin or media tank) holds the softening resin or filter media and houses the riser and distributor that route water through it. Getting the tank size and internals right is the foundation of a system that delivers full flow and capacity.

Sizing your tank

• 8x44 / 9x48 — compact softeners for apartments and small homes.
• 10x54 — the most common size for 2–4 bath homes (about 1.0–1.5 cu ft of resin).
• 12x52 / 13x54 — larger homes and high-flow demand.
• 14x65 / 16x65 — light commercial and whole-building filtration.

Internals & accessories

A complete tank needs the correct riser tube, bottom distributor (basket), and a top adapter matched to your control valve. We stock distributors, risers, O-rings and adapters so you can build or rebuild with confidence.

How much resin does a 10x54 hold? Typically 1.0–1.5 cubic feet, ~32,000–48,000 grains of softening capacity. Can I reuse my tank? Yes — many upgrades reuse a sound mineral tank and just replace the valve and media.
