Built for residential well water where dissolved iron is leaving orange or reddish-brown stains on toilets, sinks, tubs, fixtures, laundry, and other surfaces. This is a complete point-of-entry treatment system, not a control head or loose-media listing.

The AIO cycle maintains an air pocket in the mineral tank. Iron is oxidized as the water passes through the system and the Katalox Light bed filters the oxidized material. The system automatically backwashes to clean the media bed. It uses no salt for iron filtration and is installed on the main water line so treated water serves the whole house.

Before ordering

A current water test is recommended. Iron concentration, manganese, sulfur odor, pH, well-pump capacity, plumbing flow demand, and other water conditions can affect system selection and performance. This 10" x 54" configuration is intended for residential applications whose tested water chemistry and required flow are compatible with the system.

What causes orange or rust-colored stains?
Dissolved iron in well water can oxidize after exposure to air and leave orange, red, or brown deposits on plumbing fixtures and other surfaces.

Is this a complete system or only the valve?
It is a complete whole-house system: 10" x 54" mineral tank, Fleck 2510SXT AIO valve, Katalox Light media/support bed, and bypass valve.

How does the system treat iron?
The air-injection cycle provides oxidation inside the tank and the Katalox Light media filters the oxidized iron. The valve then automatically backwashes the media bed.

Can it also help with manganese or sulfur odor?
Katalox Light AIO systems are used for iron, manganese, and hydrogen-sulfide applications, but actual treatment suitability depends on the measured water chemistry. Test the water before selecting the system for a combined-contaminant problem.

Does it soften hard water?
No. This is an iron/oxidation filtration system, not an ion-exchange water softener. If hardness treatment is also required, a properly sized softener is a separate treatment stage.

Does it require salt?
No salt is used for the iron-filtration process. The system uses air oxidation and automatic backwashing.

Where is it installed?
At the home's point of entry on the main water line, subject to normal plumbing, drain, electrical, pressure, and backwash-flow requirements.

How is the correct size confirmed?
Use the water-test results together with household peak-flow demand and available well-pump/backwash flow. Contact Water Softener Plus before ordering when the chemistry or hydraulic requirements are uncertain.
