Beschreibung

Need to cap an unused port or temporarily block a line? The John Guest 1/4" Tube Plug from Reliance Worldwide Corporation does exactly that. This polypropylene plug inserts into any 1/4" John Guest push-fit fitting to seal it off quickly and cleanly, making it a handy component for water filtration, reverse osmosis, and other point-of-use systems where configurations change over time and open ports cannot be left to leak.

Because it uses the same Speedfit push-in principle as the rest of the John Guest range, the plug requires no tools to install. Push it into the collet of an open fitting and the internal O-ring forms a watertight seal instantly. When the port is needed again, simply depress the collet and pull the plug free. Being fully reusable, the same plug can move from one job to the next without losing its seal.

Common Uses

  • Capping spare outlets on manifolds and filter housings
  • Blocking off a tee or valve port no longer in use
  • Pressure-testing a line during installation or troubleshooting
  • Temporary shut-off while servicing downstream components
  • Sealing a stub during staged or phased installations

Built from corrosion-resistant polypropylene, this plug stands up to continuous contact with treated water and won't scale or rust like metal alternatives. Its 1/4" size matches the most common tubing used in residential drinking-water and RO setups, so it slots neatly into existing John Guest connections. During commissioning, installers often use a plug to seal a branch and pressurize the system to check for leaks before bringing every outlet online, which catches problems early and avoids messy callbacks. To remove it afterward, depress the collet and the plug withdraws cleanly with no damage to the fitting. For installers who want a reliable, reusable way to seal off 1/4" ports, this John Guest tube plug is a small part that consistently earns its place in the toolbox.

Keeping a few plugs on hand also makes diagnostics faster. If a system is losing pressure, plugging suspect branches one at a time helps isolate where the leak originates without disassembling the whole circuit. Because the plug seals instantly and removes just as easily, it doubles as a troubleshooting tool as well as a permanent cap, earning its keep on every service call.
