NWS 10x54 Filter Unit w/Bypass

The NWS 10x54 Filter Unit with Bypass, alternate part NWTS-AFB-10T, is a taller variant of Nelsen Water Treatment Solutions' 10" backwashing filter platform, trading the 44" tank for a 54" column to hold more media in the same diameter. That additional height can lengthen service runs between backwash cycles or improve contact time for media that perform better with a deeper bed, making it a smart upgrade when you want more capacity without increasing the system's diameter or floor footprint. The extra contact time can meaningfully improve results for certain treatment media.

Like the rest of the AFB line, it ships as a complete hardware assembly, so you add the media and plumbing connections separately to target your specific water issues. The package includes Nelsen's 1" three-cycle backwash filter valve, a bypass valve for easy service isolation, a black polyglass mineral tank, a basket distributor, and a gravel underbed that supports the media and promotes even flow distribution through the column during both service and backwash.

At about 37 lbs as configured, the 10x54 is a sensible step up when you want more capacity and contact time than a 10x44 can provide but need to keep the tank diameter the same, making it a practical choice for homes where the wider tank would not fit but a bit more performance is wanted.
