The filter bed is loaded with 1-1/4 cubic feet of Katalox-Light® catalytic media over a base support layer. Because Katalox-Light® oxidizes and filters iron, manganese, arsenic, and H2S on contact, the system needs no potassium permanganate or chlorine. Its structure delivers high service flow with low pressure drop and requires only a brief 5- to 10-minute backwash. The compact ozone module mounts on the 1" control valve and incorporates a patented stainless steel Ozotech CD cell inside a weatherproof enclosure, supplying the oxidation that lets the media perform reliably on demanding well water.
