DROP Water Treatment Systems and Components

The DROP collection offers a comprehensive range of advanced water treatment valves, sensors, and accessories designed to optimize and automate residential and light commercial water softening, filtration, and leak detection systems. Specialized for the DROP System platform and compatible Connected Series components, this collection supports enhanced control, monitoring, and maintenance of your water treatment equipment. Whether you need motorized bypass valves, leak detectors, or precision test kits, DROP products provide integration and reliability tailored to your water conditioning needs.

How the DROP System Works

The DROP System is a modular water treatment solution that combines electronically controlled valves, sensors, and management hubs to automate water softening and filtration processes. Core components like the VESTA DROP 121 10 x 44 Backwash Filter use backwash cycles to remove trapped particles and regenerate filter media efficiently. The system incorporates motorized bypass valves to reroute water flow during maintenance or emergencies, ensuring continuous water supply without disruption.

Integrated sensors, such as low salt sensors and leak detectors, provide real-time monitoring of critical parameters. These sensors communicate with the DROP Connect Management System hub (DROP-HUB), which centralizes data and control functions. This connectivity allows for proactive alerts and optimized system performance, reducing water waste and preventing damage from leaks.

Choosing the Right DROP Products for Your Water System

Selecting the appropriate DROP components depends on your existing water treatment setup and the level of automation and monitoring you require. Consider the following:

Valve Compatibility: The collection includes specialized valves such as the CSI 121 DROP Softener Valve, CSI 121 DROP Filter Valve, and the CSI DROP 121 Aeration Filter Valve. These are designed for use with specific DROP System configurations and media types. Ensure valve models match your system size and treatment media.
Bypass Needs: Motorized bypass valves like the DROP System Motorized Bypass and Connected Series drop bypass valves allow automated or manual diversion of water. Choose based on whether you need remote control capabilities or simpler manual operation.
Monitoring and Alerts: Incorporate sensors such as the Low Salt Sensor for DROP System Brine Tank and DROP System Leak Detectors to enhance system reliability. These devices signal low salt levels critical for softener regeneration or detect leaks early to prevent water damage.
Testing and Maintenance: Utilize the Hach Drop Count Hardness Test Kit and Hach Droppers for water hardness testing and chemical dosing accuracy, helping maintain optimal system performance.

Sizing and Compatibility Considerations

Proper sizing and compatibility are crucial when integrating DROP components into your water treatment system:

Filter and Valve Dimensions: For example, the VESTA DROP 121 10 x 44 Backwash Filter is designed for specific flow rates and media volumes. Verify that your water demand and pipe sizes correspond with product recommendations.
Valve Model Series: The CSI 121 series valves align with the DROP 121 system platform and should be matched accordingly to maintain operational integrity.
Electrical and Communication Interfaces: Motorized valves and sensor hubs require compatible power supplies and communication protocols. Check that the DROP Connect Management System hub supports your existing control environment for seamless integration.
Sensor Placement: Position leak detectors strategically in areas prone to leaks or flooding, such as near the brine tank or valve enclosures, to maximize early detection capabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can DROP System components be used with non-DROP water softeners or filters?

A: DROP products are engineered specifically for the DROP System platform and Connected Series valves. While some components like leak detectors or sensors might be adaptable, valves and filters typically require compatibility with DROP-specific hardware and control systems to function correctly.

Q: How does the DROP Connect Management System hub improve system operation?

A: The DROP Connect Management System hub centralizes control and monitoring of valves, sensors, and pumps within the water treatment system. It enables real-time alerts, remote management, and automated process adjustments, improving efficiency and reducing maintenance needs.

Q: What is the purpose of the low salt sensor in the DROP brine tank?

A: The low salt sensor monitors salt levels in the brine tank to ensure adequate salt is available for the softener regeneration cycle. This sensor helps prevent system downtime or reduced softening performance due to insufficient salt, allowing timely replenishment.
