Beschrijving
The Fleck Drive Harness (FL40400) is the wiring harness that carries power and control signals to the drive components of a Fleck 2510 control valve. A sound harness keeps the connections between the timer, motor, and switches intact so the valve advances and regenerates exactly as programmed. When the wiring is solid, the rest of the drive can do its job; when it is compromised, even healthy components behave unpredictably.
This individual harness has been discontinued. The component is now supplied within Fleck service kit FL62103-02. If your 2510 rebuild calls for a fresh drive harness, order that kit to obtain the supported current part along with the other components it includes.

Why wiring matters
Electrical faults are an underappreciated cause of softener trouble. A cracked, brittle, or corroded harness can produce intermittent operation, a valve that won't advance, or erratic timer behavior, often mimicking a failed motor or control board. Technicians can spend considerable time replacing perfectly good parts before discovering the real culprit was a degraded harness. In the warm, humid, occasionally salty environment around a brine tank, wiring insulation and connectors are subject to slow but steady deterioration.
When you have the control head open for a rebuild, inspecting and refreshing the drive harness alongside the motor and switches is good preventive practice, especially on valves installed in damp basements, garages, or well houses. A new harness eliminates a whole category of hard-to-diagnose problems before they start. Because FL40400 is no longer sold separately, reference kit FL62103-02 to source it. Always disconnect power before handling any wiring inside a Fleck control head, and route the new harness clear of moving cam and gear parts so it cannot chafe over time. A fresh harness, properly routed away from moving parts, removes a frequent source of intermittent faults and lets the rebuilt valve operate predictably for years rather than developing nagging electrical gremlins.
