Deskripsi

This American Granby PVC cap provides a simple, reliable way to close off the end of a 1" threaded line. With a 1" FIPT (female iron pipe thread) connection, it screws directly onto a male-threaded pipe end or fitting to seal the run, making it an easy finishing piece for terminating a line or blanking off a future expansion point.

Finish runs and pressure-test with confidence

Caps are indispensable for tidying up plumbing. Use one to finish a run cleanly, to blank a stub-out you plan to extend later, or to seal a section of pipe during a pressure test before a softener or filter is commissioned. Unlike a slip cap that solvent-welds permanently in place, this threaded FIPT version can be unscrewed when you need to reopen the line, which makes it especially handy for temporary closures and future-expansion points where a permanent cap would mean cutting the pipe to reopen it.

  • Connection: 1" FIPT (female threads)
  • Fitting type: cap
  • Material: Schedule 40 PVC
  • Seals the end of any 1" male-threaded line
  • Useful for terminating runs and pressure testing
  • Light at about 0.07 lb each

To seal it, apply PTFE thread tape or pipe thread compound to the male threads it screws onto, then hand-tighten and add a gentle final turn with a wrench, taking care not to overstress the plastic. Verify the seal under pressure before closing up any enclosure. Because PVC resists corrosion, scale, and chlorinated water, this cap will not rust or seize the way a metal cap might in treated or brine-laden water, keeping it removable for years. It is an inexpensive, corrosion-proof, and genuinely reusable component for keeping treated-water plumbing neat and serviceable in homes and light-commercial systems.

When planning a layout, dry-assemble the run first to verify alignment and orientation before any primer or cement touches the parts. Mark the insertion depth and the rotational position with a pencil so each fitting seats fully and points the right way once the cement flashes. A few minutes of dry-fitting prevents the common mistake of gluing a part a few degrees off, which on a permanent solvent-weld joint can only be corrected by cutting it out and starting over.
