Descripción

This genuine Pentair Fleck DLFC Retainer is sized for the 30-45 GPM range and is used with the Fleck 2815 valve. The retainer holds the drain line flow control button securely in position within the drain port, ensuring the DLFC stays correctly seated so it can regulate the high backwash flow rates that larger systems demand. It is part of the Fleck DLFC service family.

  • Genuine Fleck 2815 DLFC retainer
  • Sized for the 30-45 GPM flow control range
  • Secures the drain line flow control button in place
  • Supports proper high-rate backwash on large tanks
  • Restores correct flow control positioning
  • Lightweight, low-cost service part

Why the Retainer Matters

On large-diameter filter and softener tanks, backwash demands a substantial drain flow to lift, fluidize, and clean the media bed. The DLFC button is what fixes that flow rate, but it can only do its job if it is held firmly in the correct position within the drain port. That is the retainer's role. If the retainer cracks, deforms, or goes missing, the flow control button can shift, tilt, or even dislodge during the high-flow backwash stage, throwing off the drain rate and compromising how well the media is cleaned. Poor backwash, in turn, leads to packed or channeled media, reduced filtration, and shorter runs between service.

The Fleck 2815 is a workhorse valve used in larger residential and commercial applications where higher flow rates and capacity are needed. Keeping the DLFC retainer and its matching flow control button in good condition ensures consistent media cleaning and long bed life. When servicing, confirm that the 30-45 GPM range suits your tank diameter and media type, since the required backwash rate depends on both. Relieve system pressure before opening the drain port, seat the new retainer fully so the flow control sits square in the port, and inspect the drain line for debris while you have the assembly apart. Because the retainer is inexpensive yet essential to holding the flow control in place during high-rate backwash, replacing a cracked or worn one promptly protects both the media and the consistent performance of the larger system it serves.
