Automated Pure Water Systems and Components for Efficient Water Treatment

The "Automated Pure Water" collection offers specialized equipment and replacement parts designed to facilitate the automated treatment and filtration of water, ensuring consistent delivery of high-purity water with minimal manual intervention. This category focuses on automation features like automatic feeders, flush valves, and mixers that streamline processes commonly used in industrial and municipal water treatment systems. Whether you are upgrading an existing system or building a new one, the products here support enhanced control, reliability, and efficiency in pure water production.

How Automated Pure Water Systems Work

Automated pure water systems combine mechanical filtration, chemical dosing, and controlled flushing to maintain optimal water quality without constant operator input. Key components include:

Feeders and Rate of Feed Valves: Devices such as the Model 400 Feeder and related rate of feed valves regulate the precise addition of chlorine or other chemicals in pellet or liquid form. This ensures consistent disinfection or conditioning of water.
Sand Trap Filters: Automated sand trap water filters, including those from Nelsen Corporation, remove suspended solids by trapping sediment within the filter media. Automation of backflushing cycles helps maintain filter efficiency and prolongs media life.
Auto Flush Valves and Controls: Automatic flush valves clear accumulated debris and prevent clogging. Some models even offer Bluetooth control for remote monitoring and programming, improving operational flexibility.
Tank Mixers: Retention tank mixers promote uniform chemical distribution within storage tanks, preventing stratification and ensuring consistent water quality throughout the system.

How to Choose the Right Automated Pure Water Components

Selecting the appropriate equipment depends on several factors related to your water treatment needs and system design:

Chemical Feed Requirements: Determine the type of chemical treatment needed—chlorine pellet feeders are ideal for disinfection, while liquid feeders may suit pH adjustment or corrosion control. Choose feeders compatible with your chemical form and dosage rates.
Filtration Capacity: Consider the flow rate and sediment load to select sand trap filters sized to your system’s demands. Automated backflush capability is important for reducing downtime and maintenance frequency.
Control and Automation Level: Evaluate whether you require basic automatic valves or advanced Bluetooth-enabled controls for remote operation. More sophisticated controls can improve system oversight and reduce manual labor.
Tank and Piping Compatibility: Verify that mixers, o-rings, and valve bodies fit your existing tanks and pipe sizes. Components like the Noryl In/Out Heads and pipe couplings must match the dimensions and materials of your infrastructure to ensure leak-free operation.

Sizing and Compatibility Considerations

Proper sizing and compatibility are critical to ensure system reliability and longevity:

Feeders: Check feeder size and feed rate specifications to match the volume and chemical concentration your system requires. The Model 400 Feeder and its lid assemblies come in various configurations to fit different application scales.
Filters and Valves: Sand trap filters and auto flush valves must be compatible with your system’s pressure ratings and piping. For example, auto flush valve bodies are available with 1-inch female threaded connections, so ensure your piping matches this size or adapters are used.
Tank Mixers and O-Rings: Mixer assemblies are sized by tank diameter and height, such as 18 x 65 inch or 13 x 44 inch tanks. O-rings for heads must correspond exactly to the tank models to maintain a tight seal and prevent leaks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the advantages of automated feeders over manual chemical dosing?
Automated feeders provide consistent, precise chemical dosing that reduces human error and ensures stable water quality. They also minimize operator time and improve safety by reducing direct handling of chemicals.

Q: Can I retrofit an existing sand trap filter with an automated flush valve?
Yes, many auto flush valves and control units are designed to be retrofitted onto existing filters to automate backflushing. Compatibility depends on valve body connections and control system integration.

Q: How do I know which tank mixer assembly fits my retention tank?
Identify your tank’s diameter and height, then select a mixer assembly sized for those dimensions. For example, a mixer labeled “18 x 65 Tank Tri-Sh” indicates suitability for an 18-inch diameter by 65-inch tall tank with a tri-shaft mounting.
