Description

The Pentair Fleck Injector for 7000-series valves is a precision-machined flow component that creates the suction needed to draw brine from the salt tank during regeneration. Sized as the #000, the smallest in the lineup, and compatible with the Fleck 5812 platform, it generates a venturi effect that pulls concentrated brine through the resin bed to recharge its softening capacity. It is part of the Fleck Injector service family.

How the Injector Works

Water passing through the narrow injector throat speeds up and drops in pressure, creating a vacuum on the brine line. That vacuum is what lifts the salt solution out of the brine tank and carries it into the media, where sodium ions displace the calcium and magnesium that cause hardness. Injector size is matched to tank diameter and flow rate, because a larger tank needs more draw than a smaller one. The #000 is the smallest size and is therefore suited to compact, low-flow softener tanks.

  • Genuine Fleck 7000 / 5812 injector, #000 size
  • Creates venturi suction for reliable brine draw
  • Sized for the smallest-diameter softener tanks
  • Restores proper regeneration on clogged or worn injectors
  • Precision-machined for consistent performance
  • Compact, lightweight service component

Injectors are highly sensitive to debris and scale because their internal passages are extremely small, sometimes no wider than a pinhole. A partially blocked injector is one of the most common reasons a softener fails to draw brine and stops softening, even while the rest of the valve cycles normally. The classic symptom is a brine tank that never draws down, paired with the gradual return of hard water. Keeping a spare injector on hand makes troubleshooting quick and avoids extended downtime. Confirm the injector size matches your tank and flow requirements before installing, inspect and clean the injector screen during service to keep brine draw consistent, and depressurize the valve before removing the injector cap. Because injector size is tied so closely to tank diameter, keeping the correct size on hand for your specific system ensures that a simple fouling problem never turns into an extended period without soft water. As a precision component at the heart of brine draw, the correct injector is one of the most impactful small parts you can keep on hand for any compact 5812-based softener.
