الوصف
Catalytic activated carbon media for chloramine, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide and stubborn taste/odor that standard carbon struggles with. A carbon filtration media, not a softening resin — does not remove hardness.
Catalytic carbon for tougher tastes and odors
Aquasorb CX MCA is a catalytic activated carbon, supplied one cubic foot to a box, engineered to do more than ordinary carbon. Beyond adsorbing chlorine, tastes, and odors, its catalytic surface accelerates the breakdown of chloramine and hydrogen sulfide, the stubborn compounds that standard carbon struggles to remove, which makes it a strong choice for both chloraminated city water and odor-prone wells.
Charging and service
Loaded into a backwashing filter tank, the carbon bed treats the whole house and rinses itself on backwash, so there are no cartridges to replace. Carbon is gradually consumed as it works, so plan a periodic media change based on your water and usage. Tell us whether you are treating chloramine, sulfide, or general taste and odor, and your flow rate, and we will size the carbon volume and set the backwash schedule.
Choosing catalytic over standard carbon
Standard activated carbon adsorbs contaminants until its surface fills; catalytic carbon adds a second mechanism, using its surface to actively drive the reactions that neutralize chloramine and hydrogen sulfide. That is why it is worth the premium on chloraminated municipal water and on wells where a rotten-egg odor persists, situations where ordinary carbon is quickly overwhelmed.
Bed life and replacement
Service life depends heavily on your water chemistry and how much water the household uses, since every gallon consumes a little capacity. Rather than guess, we help you estimate a realistic change interval from your usage and contaminant load, so you replace the media on evidence rather than on a fixed calendar.
Getting the volume right
Supplied one cubic foot per box for easy handling and shipping; give us your tank size and target flow and we will confirm the carbon volume your system needs, along with the correct gravel underbed to support it.
