Description

Part number FL14801-03C is the Fleck #3C Yellow Injector Nozzle, a precision metering component for Fleck control valves including the 9500 model. The injector nozzle, paired with its matching throat, creates the venturi suction that draws brine from the salt tank into the resin bed during the regeneration cycle, making it one of the most performance-critical small parts in the entire valve. As service water rushes through the nozzle, it generates the vacuum that pulls concentrated brine across the resin to recharge its softening capacity.

This standalone yellow #3C nozzle has been discontinued, but it remains available within the FL60157-04 service kit. The kit groups the nozzle with the related injector parts that are typically serviced together, which is the recommended approach since injector components wear and foul as a set rather than individually.

  • Genuine Pentair Fleck #3C Yellow injector nozzle
  • Color-coded sizing for correct brine-draw flow
  • Compatible with Fleck 9500 control valves
  • Now offered through service kit FL60157-04
  • Lightweight precision-molded component (approx. 0.01 lb)
  • Pairs with the matching #3C throat for proper venturi action

Injector nozzles are sized and color-coded so that each tank diameter receives the proper brine-draw rate; installing the wrong color can leave the resin only partly regenerated or waste salt and water. If your softener exhibits weak brine draw, an unusually slow rinse, or hardness leakage at the tap, a clogged or worn injector is a frequent cause. The narrow orifice that makes the nozzle effective also makes it vulnerable to plugging from sediment, iron, or salt residue. Replacing the injector set during routine maintenance keeps Fleck-equipped systems drawing brine cleanly, regenerating fully, and softening at their rated capacity, while protecting the home from the gradual return of hard-water effects.

For technicians maintaining several Fleck softeners, keeping the FL60157-04 kit in the truck means injector problems can be resolved on the first visit rather than after a parts-ordering delay. The injector is small enough to carry in quantity yet important enough that a single fouled passage can take a whole system offline. Refreshing it on a preventive schedule, before symptoms appear, is the surest way to keep a 9500-equipped softener regenerating fully and quietly delivering soft water year-round.
