Beschreibung

For tank ports where both connecting lines are threaded, this Spears PVC bulkhead fitting provides a sealed 1" penetration with FIPT threads on both faces. It clamps through a tank wall to create a watertight pass-through that accepts male-threaded pipe or fittings on either side, an ideal solution when you want serviceable, removable connections inside and outside the vessel.

Threaded both sides for easy service

Bulkhead fittings are the standard way to get plumbing in and out of brine tanks, storage tanks, and treatment vessels without leaks. The dual-FIPT configuration is especially convenient because you can disconnect lines on either side, for cleaning, reconfiguration, or seasonal service, without disturbing the seal at the tank wall itself. The seal is created by a gasket compressed against the wall by the retaining nut, so the integrity of the penetration is independent of the threaded connections you make to it.

  • Connection: 1" FIPT x FIPT (female threads both sides)
  • Fitting type: bulkhead (tank wall) fitting
  • Material: strong Schedule 80 PVC
  • Watertight pass-through for tank walls
  • Threaded both sides for serviceable connections
  • Approximate weight: 0.39 lb each

Installation follows the usual bulkhead method. Cut a properly sized hole, position the gasket against the tank wall, and tighten the retaining nut evenly to compress the seal without warping the plastic. Use PTFE tape or pipe sealant on the male threads of whatever you connect to each side, and avoid over-torquing, which can stress the plastic. Backed by Spears Manufacturing's reputation for quality thermoplastic fittings, this heavy-wall Schedule 80 bulkhead stands up to brine, chlorinated water, and the corrosive conditions found throughout water-treatment systems, making it a reliable choice for long-term tank plumbing.

When planning a layout, dry-assemble the run first to verify alignment and orientation before any primer or cement touches the parts. Mark the insertion depth and the rotational position with a pencil so each fitting seats fully and points the right way once the cement flashes. A few minutes of dry-fitting prevents the common mistake of gluing a part a few degrees off, which on a permanent solvent-weld joint can only be corrected by cutting it out and starting over.
